FAQ'S

Is the Middle East a safe destination?

The Middle East has seen a lot of historic changes with the Arab Spring and there has been instability in Libya, Tunisia, Egypt and Syria. However, Tunisia and Egypt have settled whilst this is not the case with Syria and Libya. The remaining countries in the Middle East are safe and secure apart from Syria which is still having some unrest. The Middle East is a destination which is therefore safe, offers real value for money and which also is the birthplace of civilisations. From this region, religion, maths and some of the greatest inventions that we take for granted were realised. The Middle East has so much to offer, so travel with us and see and feel the hospitality and generosity of its people?

Is my money protected if I book a holiday?

Middle East Journeys is ATOL protected and bonded and we are also part of the Travel Trust Association. This means that your flights are protected and in fact, by being part of the Travel Trust Association, your monies are held in trust by their trustees. We cannot remove any profit that we make until you are safely back in the UK from your holiday. This way, you as the customer have the security of having your holiday monies protected.

What is the weather like and how long does it take to fly to the region?

The Middle East is only 4 hours flying time from London. The weather ranges from 15 degrees centigrade through to 45 degrees centigrade in the summer. Travellers can wear what they like though obviously some countries are conservative in their dress sense and we ask travellers to take this into account when travelling through souks or bazaars or when walking past places of worship. Nonetheless, dress requirements are not a major concern. All we ask therefore is that travellers respect local customs in semi-conservative societies like Jordan for example.

What if I have problems in the Middle East?

People from the Middle East are extremely hospitable and extremely generous. That is one reason why people should travel there apart from the value for money holiday opportunities which the region provides. Travellers from the United Kingdom and many other countries travel to the Middle East and have some of the most memorable holidays in their lives and the vast and overwhelming majority of fears of the Middle East are unfounded. Nonetheless, we provide travel packs which include the numbers and addresses of Foreign and Commonwealth Offices (FCO) in countries in the Middle East and if you find yourself in a situation where you need assistance, you should immediately contact the FCO and Middle East Journeys. We want to ensure that your welfare is protected.

What does the Middle East Offer to Travellers?

The Middle East offers:

  • Some of the best and most unspoilt beaches in the world.
  • Eco-tourism sites across the region.
  • Hot sunny weather about 300 days of the year.
  • The generosity, hospitality and affection of its people.
