Bookings and General Information
In these Booking Conditions, the following words have the following meanings:-
“You” and “Your” means all people named on the booking form including anyone who is added or substituted at a later date.
“We”, “Us” and “Our” means Iman Travel, trading as ME Journeys.
1 FAIR TRADING WARRANTY
a) Bookings
Your contract will be with Iman Travel who is trading as ME Journeys (www. mejourneys.com). The price of your holiday will include the amount of £2.50 per person as part of the ATOL Protection Contribution (APC). The Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 require us to provide security for the monies that you pay for the package holidays booked from our quotations and for your repatriation in the event of our insolvency.
b) Liability and Responsibility
We accept liability which may arise during your holiday and which concerns a component part of your holiday and where it concerns negligent acts or omissions by any person employed directly by us, our agents or suppliers. We shall not be responsible nor accept liability for death, bodily injury or illness, unless proven to be by negligence.
c) Illness or injury arising directly out of arrangements made by us
We have no direct control over the hotels, ground handlers or other providers of services or facilities, but we do accept responsibility for any personal illness injury or death which results from negligent acts or omissions (as determined by English Law) of our service agents or suppliers acting on our behalf in the provision of services and facilities to you and whilst acting in the scope of their employment. This provision does not provide liability for air or sea common carriers whose individual conditions of carriage apply and are subject to international agreements and conventions namely (but not wholly) the Warsaw Convention, details of which are explained briefly on all scheduled airline tickets issued by us.
d) Arbitration
In the unlikely event of a complaint whilst on holiday, you must first tell our agent or hotelier who will try to resolve the problem on the spot. If the complaint cannot be resolved there, you must send a written complaint to reach us within 14 days of the end of your holiday in order that we may investigate it fully. Disputes arising out of, or in conjunction with this contract which cannot be amicably settled may (if you so wish) be referred to arbitration under a special scheme which is administered quite independently by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
The scheme (details of which will be supplied on request) provides for an inexpensive method of arbitration on documents alone with restricted liability on claims for an amount greater than £5000 per person. There is also a limit of £25,000 per booking form. It does not apply to claims which are solely or mainly in respect of physical injury or illness or the consequence of such injury or illness. The rules of the scheme provide that the application for arbitration must be made within two months of the date of return from the holiday.
e) Privacy policy – data protection
We make every effort to comply with Data Protection laws. The purpose of data protection is to protect an individual’s rights by keeping personal data secure and by regulating, controlling and processing, so that it may be used only for the purpose for which it was given or obtained.
Your information is used for the following purposes:-

Ensuring compliance of Travel Policy
Collation and reporting of travel data (at the request of the client)
To fulfil travel service requests
Provide information to third parties i.e. airline, hotel, car rental service.
2 THE BOOKING CONTRACT
a) How to book
Select the travel arrangements and dates most suitable to you at our website http://www.mejourneys.com. You will need to specify the number of adults and children (if requesting a family holiday) you want to book for so that we can check availability on your chosen trip and also let you know whether the trip is Available or Guaranteed. To make a booking, you contact us in several ways. You can either book online or call directly our reservations team on 0044 (0) 20 7554 8844 or 0800 0280826 to secure the package trip or the flight and/or accommodation separately.
The person making the booking (the 'lead name') must be 18 years old or over and possess the legal capacity and authority to make the booking and accepts these booking conditions on behalf of everyone in their party. We regret we cannot accept any booking for a child or children under 18 unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
For online bookings, please enter the details for the lead traveller and then details for all the other travellers ensuring that ALL NAMES ARE SPELT EXACTLY AS THEY APPEAR ON THE PASSPORTS. Any airline tickets issued with incorrect spelling cannot always be reissued without penalty, so please check this carefully. Do not use abbreviations e.g. Jessie for Jessica, unless this is what appears in your passport.
b) Holiday package prices
Unless stated otherwise, the holiday package price covers cost of inbound expenses only. All prices advertised on our website are accurate at the date publishes, but we reserve the right to change any of those prices. Prices on our website are updated regularly. The cost of air ticket is subject to change according the time, date or month of travelling. In addition, group tours packages are based on a minimum number of passengers travelling. If the number of passengers falls below the minimum required, a surcharge may be imposed on all passengers.
Our price is based on shared room, unless you request a specific rooming requirement when you book. We will tell you whether there is a charge for the request. We can only guarantee requests for which there is a charge, or those that are confirmed in writing.
c) Flights
The flights costs will be based on the economy seating, unless you request a specific travel requirement when you book. We will tell you the charge for the request and the availability of the flight seats required by you.
d) Bookings payment - Deposit
You will need to pay a non-refundable deposit of £250 per person, or 10% of the total bookings amount, whichever is higher. However, if you are booking with less than 8 weeks to go before your departure date, the online booking process will request full payment of the total trip to secure your booking. Other than that, bookings payment can be made by cash or cheque at our sales office; or by using credit card/debit card facilities either online or by telephone or at our sales office.
e) Our contract with you
The contract between us will be created either:
When we send written confirmation, and
When we accept the bookings payment. That means when the bookings payment by cheque is cleared by the bank; or when we accept the bookings payment by credit card/debit card.
If you book by telephone, we will send you a complete booking form for your signature. This must be returned within five working days otherwise we retain the right to cancel the contract.
Our contract with you is subject to English Law and jurisdiction. If you have any complaints about any of the inbound operators we will assist you in resolving them. If it cannot be corrected by informing the appropriate representative at the time we ask you that you advise us not later than 14 days after the completion of your holiday.
f) Final Payment
If you have only paid a booking deposit, the balance of your payment must be paid at least 8 weeks before your departure date. The exact date will be shown on your invoice in your confirmation paperwork. If you are booking with less than 8 weeks to go before your departure date, you must pay the full amount at the time of booking. If you do not pay in time, your holiday may be cancelled and cancellation charges will be due.
Final payment by credit or charge card will be subject to surcharge to cover the cost of the card issuer fees. At time of publication, these were Visa and Mastercard 2% - American Express 3%.
g) Booking changes by you
If you wish to change any part of your booking after our confirmation has been issued, please let us know as soon as possible. Charges will apply if you need to make any changes to your flight. We will charge for any additional services, facilities or other items changed. In addition, we will also charge an administration fee of £25 per. If the changed arrangements are more expensive than those originally booked, you must also pay the price difference. Changing dates or the numbers travelling are major changes which may incur a higher fee.
We will try to make the changes subject to availability, provided that notification is received in writing at our offices from the lead name at least 14 days before departure.
h) Destination inbound extra services
There will be additional cost for any extra services beside the pre-packaged programme, accommodation or coach tour.
i) Unused services
There will be no refund for any portion of a pre-packaged programme, hotel accommodation or coach tour which is not used by the client, or credit given for alterations made after date of departure.
j) Accommodation
On some tours the standard of accommodation may vary by reason of the rustic nature of the area. Hotel grading; the classification of deluxe, superior, first class, etc does not always reflect the standard of rooms, but is more representative of the hotel location and facilities.
k) Children/ infants/ senior citizens
Unless the promotion of the holiday package stated otherwise, any person aged 2 years and over on the day of the return flight (or last sector) pays the full adult fare. Infants under 2 years of age will be charged 20% of adults’ prices. Infants will not occupy their own seat. If a seat is required, the full adult fare is applicable. Details of charges will be shown as you go through the booking process.
On some holidays a senior citizen reduction may be available (based on varying age limits) for the air portion of the tour. In order to qualify for this reduction we must be advised at the time of booking. Failure to notify us at the time of booking will result in an amendment fee of £25 per person should we subsequently be advised that the passengers are senior citizens.
l) Package Prices
Prices quoted are based on the prevailing Foreign Currency guide rates. The price of your holiday is subject to surcharges on currency, fuel costs, accommodation and car hire.
m) Cancellation by you (other than a flight)
Should you decide to cancel your bookings, you must exercise your right to do so subject to the cancellation charges stated below. If you or a member of your party is forced to cancel a holiday once it has been confirmed, we require notification in writing from the person who signed the booking form. In certain cases a 100% cancellation fee applies as soon as the booking is made and the ticket is issued. Please ask for full details of cancellation charges at time of booking. We strongly recommend you to take out insurance that includes cover against irrecoverable cancellation costs.
Should we need to refund, refunds from airlines, tour companies, cruise lines and hotels will be made to our customers only after the monies have been received from these sources by us. You may however be able to transfer this cover to another holiday. If you are travelling on a scheduled flight, we cannot give you any refund until we have received your old travel documents, including tickets.
n) Changes by us
Holidays have to be arranged months in advance in order to plan our programme. Therefore, amendments such as flight schedules etceteras may well change by the time you travel. Most changes are minor but when they are major (for examples; a change of airport, resort area or time of departure or return, by more than 12 hours), we will inform you when you book or as soon as possible if you have already booked. You may choose any alternative offered or you may choose another holiday.
Important Note: Circumstances outside our control which include war, riot, civil strife, industrial disputes, terrorist activity, natural and nuclear disaster, fire or adverse weather conditions do not qualify. However, we will endeavour to keep to the minimum any inconvenience caused by these special circumstances.
o) Our non liability
We shall NOT be responsible nor liable for any delay caused to any passenger who by reason of a delayed flight or other means of transportation, NOT booked by us shall be late for, or precluded from, any part of the arrangement made by us on behalf of that passenger, nor for any loss of monies or enjoyment occasioned by such delay. It is the passenger’s responsibility to inform us of any air travel arrangements not booked directly with us which may affect any tour or holiday booked with us. Signature on the booking implies acceptance of this condition.
p) Flights
Iman Travel acts as a retail agent to ATOL holders whose booking conditions will be available in due course according to their practice. You are not covered by ATOL when your payment is made direct to airlines. Should you make your own flight arrangements, you will be responsible for any impact this may have on ground arrangements made by Iman Travel (including increased costs).
q) Loyalty Discounts
If you have travelled with Iman Travel on 2 or more trips you’re entitled to a 5% discount. If you have travelled on 9 or more trips a 10% discount applies. Please indicate if this is the case and we’ll check our records and apply the discount.
