Day 1: London/ Amman

Meet at London Airport for flights to Amman, Jordan. Upon arrival at the Amman Queen Alia International Airport, the travellers will be met and assisted by an assigned tour guide. The group will be transferred to the relevant hotel for the evening.

Day 2: Amman/ Jerash

After breakfast, the group will start with a tour of Amman. The tour will take into account the history of this ancient yet very modern city and will visit the archaeological sites to see the ruins from Roman, Umayyad and Byzantine periods, (to name a few). Among the must-visit sites are the Umayyad Palace (730 AD) and the Temple of Hercules (2nd century).

After lunch, the group will drive about 100 kilometres of Amman to Jerash. Jerash is one of the most favourite destinations (beside Petra), in Jordan. Being one of the ten great Roman cities in the 1st century, this ancient city is now recognized as one of the best preserved Roman provincial towns in the world. It also contains some of the finest Roman glass figurines and burial objects and therefore provides travellers with a unique insight into the lives of people at this period.

The group will visit the Roman ruins such as the South Theatre, Colonnaded Street, Hadrian’s Arch and many more. It will then return to Amman for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Amman/ Petra

After breakfast the group will drive about 3 – 3 1/2 hours to Petra. Chosen as one of the 7 wonders of the world, Petra is without doubt Jordan’s most prized and valued national treasure. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a must-visit destination for every visitor and was built by the Nabateans in the 2nd century BC, although the history of Petra goes back to around 6,500 BC. The group will visit Petra’s famous monument, the Treasury, used in the Indiana Jones final sequence ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’. Participants will spend the whole day exploring the Roman ruins such as the 1st century theatre and monastery. A transfer to a hotel in Petra for the overnight stay will follow.

Day 4 Petra/ Wadi Rum/ Dead Sea/ Amman

After breakfast the group will start its journey to Wadi Rum, the largest and most magnificent of Jordan’s desert landscape. Famous for the site of the ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ movie, Wadi Rum is the best place for travellers to experience the desert and Bedouin culture. After lunch participants will then return back to Amman. Enroute to Amman, a detour will be made to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth!

A visit to Jordan is incomplete without visiting the Dead Sea to experience the therapeutic benefits of the ‘miracle’ water. Guides will also provide a history of the prophets and holy people who have been linked to the Dead Sea, such as Moses, Lot and Job. A transfer to Amman for an overnight stay will then take place.

Day 5 Amman/ London

The group will gather at the hotel lobby in the morning for airport transfers and the departure journey back to London.
